किसी अच्छी वज़ह से ही यहोवा के भविष्यवक्ता ने दाऊद को एक ऐसा पुरुष बताया “जो [परमेश्वर] के मन के अनुसार” था।

ऐसी दुनिया में यहोवा ने हनोक को भविष्यवाणी करने की ज़िम्मेदारी दी और उसकी भविष्यवाणी के ज़बरदस्त शब्द मानो आज भी गूँज रहे हैं।

उदाहरण के लिए, जब दूसरा खलीफा, उमर इब्न अल-खट्टाब ने यहूदियों को खयबर से निष्कासित करने का फैसला किया, तो कुछ यहूदी गणमान्य व्यक्तियों ने उमर को यह दस्तावेज लाया कि यह साबित करने का प्रयास कर रहा है कि पैगंबर का इरादा था कि वे उन्हें जिज़्या से मुक्त कर रहे हैं (कर पर मुसलमानों के शासन में गैर-मुस्लिम); दस्तावेज ने दो साथी, साद इब्न मुआदाह और मुवायाह इब्न अबी सूफान के गवाह को लिया।
